About Us
Plaza’s pillared entrance on extreme left, early 1930s.
Ted Parrish was a local historian, an energetic article writer, a story writer, a filmmaker, a script writer, an artist and an active member of many local organisations. He believed in the conservation of historical buildings and the preservation of our heritage. He was a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on the area.
Ted’s daughter, Lesley Dunlop, has fulfilled a promise to him to publish the 96 articles he wrote for the ‘Evening Post-Echo’ newspaper in the early 1980s. She has added footnotes and maps, readers’ letters and more than 200 related illustrations, a significant number of which appear in print for the first time.
ECHOES OF OLD WATFORD, BUSHEY & OXHEY is a fascinating and nostalgic journey into the past and a tribute to an extraordinary father.
